One Laptop per Child lays off 50% of staff

I find this to be quite sad, actually. Earlier in January, One Laptop per Child laid off half of its staff and had to give remaining staff pay cuts in order to maintain operations. It would be nice if non-profits could be in a bubble or qualify for bailouts.

If you don't know what OLPC does, check out their site. They have a really kewl purchasing program where buyers can buy two laptops, one for themselves and one for a child in a developing country.
