Pleo in trouble: Second extinction?

Pleo is a life-like baby dinosaur. He's pretty useless by way of robotic toys for anything other than being creepily adorable. And he costs a lot (USD$250). His claim to fame is that he responds in a creepy natural way when you pet him. Which means I looooove him. :)

Pleo's makers Ugobe are in a bit of financial troubles these days, but are working to raise new funding and keep the dream alive. It would really suck if they went under. Pleo was incredible to watch and although I could never afford one, I always admired Ugobe's handiwork from afar. See him in action at PleoWorld.
