Time To Get Your Mo On! (Movember is Just Around the Corner)

Movember is one of our fave fundraising campaigns. I look forward to it every year. You see, hubby used to have a handsome goatee until we discovered Movember. Now he has a handsome handlebar Mo that he shaves off every November first and then grows back over the month. I love it; it makes him look kinda badass. (Although he's a big softie — but don't tell him you know that :)

The cause is fantastic, aiming to raise funds for prostate cancer and men's mental health. The campaign has been a big part of our lives over the past couple of years because I helped out with Movember Ottawa's social media. This year, UXCampOttawa is taking up a big chunk of my time, so I had to bow out but we're still rooting for the movement!

This year's theme is very manly: Movember and Sons
2012 is the year of Movember & Sons, when we take a look, quite simply, at what it means to be a better man. The collective knowledge of generations gives us great power to avoid mistakes of the past, plan thoughtfully for the future and to become the best version of one's self.
The campaign just updated their YouTube channel with this year's videos. Here's the first one, which cites lines from the poem If by Rudyard Kipling. Very manly, no? Watch it and then go register to help raise funds for men's health. (MoSistas can fundraise too!)

Or, consider making a donation on my MoSista page.
