Homemade Lego Advent Calendar 2014: Day 11

The story behind the Homemade Lego Advent Calendar: We opted not to buy the Dude a Lego Advent Calendar for the past couple of years. The Dude was quite amenable, countering with: "Ok, then you have to build me something every day until Christmas." Challenge  accepted! This is the series of daily posts, cataloguing my builds.

Today's build was inspired by a post on Design TAXI of minimalist movie scenes. I think minimalist builds are my absolute favourites; the ability to convey the simplicity of an image using a very small number of pieces is so compelling.

I did my best to replicated the design and I figure it turned out ok because hubby was able to identify it right away:

Lego Bumblebee (car and robot modes)
Why didn't I build Optimus Prime? It wasn't for lack of trying. But I could not figure out a couple of the key elements. Then I noticed Bumblebee further down the page and since he's the Dude's favourite Transformer... well it was a no-brainer. This might be one of my favourites so far. And you?

See you tomorrow!

Next build - Day 12
