Homemade Lego Advent Calendar 2015: Day 11 - Skate ramp

The story behind the Homemade Lego Advent Calendar: We opted not to buy the Dude a Lego Advent Calendar for the past few years. The Dude was quite amenable, countering with: "Ok, then you have to build me something every day until Christmas." Challenge accepted! This is the series of daily posts, cataloguing my builds.

The Dude and his buddy are really into BMX, motorcross and skateboarding games. Given the chance, they would binge watch Nitro Circus for hours. Personally, I find watching those guys ride a trike down a ramp on the roof of a building or ride a wheelchair through a vertical 360 loop downright dizzying. And it requires A LOT of don't-you-even-think-for-a-second-that-normal-people-do-this disclaimers. That said, I decided to feed into the love of all things skate with today's build:

The elevated curved wall was inspired by Drew Bezanson's insane elevated wall ride. (If you like extreme sports, check out his crazy BMX antics atop shipping containers.) Hope the Dude likes it!

See you tomorrow!
