Homemade Lego Advent Calendar 2015: Day 24 - Steampunk Tie Fighter

The story behind the Homemade Lego Advent Calendar: We opted not to buy the Dude a Lego Advent Calendar for the past few years. The Dude was quite amenable, countering with: "Ok, then you have to build me something every day until Christmas." Challenge accepted! This is the series of daily posts, cataloguing my builds.

So here we are. The last day of the Homemade Lego Advent Calendar for 2015. And I needed to do something pretty epic. I've done the Santa-themed stuff in the past, so this year I decided to go in a completely different direction. Steampunk Star Wars.

This is the biggest build of the year, coming in at about 6 inches across, wing to wing, and 4 inches high. It's definitely a bit abstract but I really like the way it turned out, especially with all the gauges and hoses. It's also incredibly delicate and I must have broken it a dozen times while building (and taking pics :)

And so, that brings us to the end of another set of builds for another year. Will the Homemade Lego Advent Calendar be back next year? Who knows? The Dude will be 13 and maybe he'll be too kewl for this type of thing, but only time will tell.

Until then, I wish you and yours a very happy holiday season.
